Our Senior Leadership Team is responsible for the development of CCI’s Vision, Strategy and Value Proposition to Clients. It also carries responsibilities for the day-to-day management of CCI’s operations and the implementation of the policies and strategies approved by the board. The team combines decades of experience to provide guidance, make operational decisions, review performance and steer the strategic direction of CCI in order to provide the best risk management and insurance solutions for clients.​

Roberto Scenna
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

BEc (HONS)

Roberto Scenna is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Catholic Church Insurance (CCI), a position held since 2015. He has 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, across insurance, wealth management, banking, trustee services, and asset management. Roberto’s portfolio includes director and senior leadership roles on the Boards of ANZ financial advice companies, at ANZ Bank as Manager Director Private Wealth, Managing Director - Trustees, and Managing Director Super Concepts. Roberto continues to strengthen relationships with clients, while building energised and engaged workplaces. He has advised companies and assisted organisations in the realm of community developments. Roberto has consulted with the Advisory Council for World Vision Australia, and as a Board Member of McAuley Community Services for Women. He is Director of the Italian Australian Foundation, a Williamson Community Leadership Program graduate, and a Director of Edmund Rice Education Australia for Victorian Schools.

Tim Farren
GENERAL MANAGER, UNDERWRITING & PRODUCT

Tim Farren is General Manager, Underwriting & Product for Catholic Church Insurance (CCI). He has 35 years of experience in the insurance industry and broking across the globe. A diverse career across client roles, client management, risk management and strategy, and a keen eye for business development opportunities have framed his strong leadership experience. Tim is an analytical thinker who oversees operational and functional analysis of risk, product development, pricing, and overall client experience. His expertise supports the work of determining underwriting policy and pricing. Tim has served in roles at Arthur J. Gallagher and Ansvar and brings international insurance acumen to all CCI client segments. He is Chair of Baptcare, a large multi-state not-for-profit residential aged care and community services provider.

Ruvimbo Tagwira
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)

B Com, MBus Sci, MSx, FFA

Ruvimbo Tagwira is Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Catholic Church Insurance (CCI). Her prior role for the organisation as Head of Strategic Finance involved supervising Investments, Reinsurance and Capital Management. She is an Actuary with 15 years of experience in the Financial Services industry and has worked in the Retirement and Insurance sub-sectors. Earlier in her career, Ruvimbo held a General Manager position overseeing a portfolio of insurance companies across six countries and was a Valuator for Defined-Benefit and Defined-Contribution Pension Funds. Ruvimbo holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) and a Master of Business Science (MBus Sci) specialising in Actuarial Science. She completed a Master in Management (MSx) at Stanford Graduate School of Business. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (IFoA).

Sally Stares
GENERAL MANAGER, PEOPLE AND CHANGE

Sally is General Manager, People & Culture for Catholic Church Insurance (CCI). She leads Human Resources, Organisational Development and Change, Payroll Function, and Building Administration. Sally has developed industry knowledge of Employee Relations, Claims Management, Compliance, Change Management and Employee Development over 27 years working in the United Kingdom and Australia. She is responsible for the company-wide advancement of CCI’s core values and the development of its unique culture that prioritises people over profits. Sally determines policies and programs for the professional uplift of competencies such as performance management and learning and development. She oversees the Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Policy, leading workplace wellness support for staff through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Sally is a director for the organisation’s charitable foundation CCI Giving.

Kathryn Young
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

B ENG (HONS)

Kathryn is Chief Technology Officer for Catholic Church Insurance (CCI). She leads a team in the development of strategic and innovative solutions to build a resilient information technology environment for all CCI stakeholders. Kathryn oversees the entire organisation’s technology transformation, enterprise architecture, data, infrastructure, and integrated systems while leading the CCI project management office. She designs and supervises the implementation of programs that resolve key business development concerns including system modernization, digital and workplace enablement, compliance, and data/information management. Kathryn’s expertise and knowledge of advanced technology solutions aligns integrated business needs with organisation-wide IT planning and operations. She has held senior technology roles with large financial institutions including IAG and ANZ Bank.

Jeremy Yipp
CHIEF RISK OFFICER

MAPPFIN, B ENG/COMM

Jeremy Yipp is Chief Risk Officer for Catholic Church Insurance (CCI). Jeremy provides oversight for CCI’s risk management, compliance, regulatory activity, and internal audit. He has 25 years of experience in the financial services sector supporting companies to meet their strategic, risk and assurance goals. As a member of CCI’s Senior Leadership Team, he identifies critical defence needs and drives deep, cultural organisational development of risk management behaviour. Jeremy communicates risk strategy to the Board and regulators and aligns the company’s Risk Management Framework to meet corporate risk, legal, and regulatory duties through embedded business practices. He is a graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course and the Chair of CCI Giving, a charitable foundation.

Dion Gooderham
GENERAL COUNSEL & COMPANY SECRETARY

LLB, BA (Socio)

Dion joined Catholic Church Insurance (CCI) in 2020 as General Counsel (GC) and Company Secretary. Prior to his current role, he led legal and financial services teams for American International Group, Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, Insurance Australia Group (IAG), and the Uniting Church in Australia (Synod of Victoria and Tasmania). Dion holds a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) and postgraduate qualifications in Risk Management, Business Administration, and Financial Services Law. He participates in not-for-profit and charitable initiatives to combat youth suicide and mental health issues in regional Australia.

Rosalyn deVries
GENERAL MANAGER, STRATEGY & PERFORMANCE

DBA, MBA (Mktg), GradDip AppFin, BA

Rosalyn is General Manager Strategy & Performance for Catholic Church Insurance (CCI) and has had a long-standing career in financial services and global logistics. Rosalyn leads the Strategy, Financial Planning and Analysis, and Insights and Analytics teams. She is accountable for developing CCI’s strategy and ensuring initiatives and projects align to CCI’s unique vision. Rosalyn guides key decision-making on projects underpinning performance and growth. Across three decades, she steered businesses to actively navigate disruption and transformational change. In her prior roles she worked with UniSuper, AXA, Perpetual Trustees, Advance Funds Management, BNY Mellon, and Club Assist. Rosalyn is a Steering Committee member of a multi-university, Medical Research Future Fund project centred on treatment developments for the rare genetic condition Prader Willi Syndrome.

David Hutton
GENERAL MANAGER, OPERATIONS

B.App.Sc. (Exercise and Sport Science)

David is the General Manager of Operations for Catholic Church Insurance (CCI). David leads the Operations division incorporating claims management, administration and service delivery functions accountable for the end-to-end claims management and customer experience for CCI’s claims businesses. The operations division manages and administers all claims for CCI’s Professional Standards, Liability, Property, Motor, Accident and Workers Compensation products. David has worked in the insurance industry for 24 years with significant personal injury claims, contract management, panel management and change management experience in Workers Compensation and Life claims environments at Suncorp (GIO), Suncorp Life, icare NSW and most recently at CCI. David is passionate about relentlessly pursuing continuous improvement and elevating customer experience through aligning lean business processes to the optimisation of business objectives and customer experience.
