You should arrange appropriate medical treatment for your injured employees immediately, as well as record all required information in the register of injuries.

If one of your workers has been injured, you’re required to complete a notification of injury form and lodge it with us within 48 hours.

What to do after an injury has occurred

As an employer, you have an obligation to investigate the incident and implement changes to ensure similar injuries don’t happen again. You should also update your WHS procedures.

If your injured worker cannot immediately return to their usual duties, see if you can find them duties they can manage while recuperating. Staying involved in the workplace can often aid the recovery process.
